Marian Vayreda’s novel La Punyalada provides one of the best ways of discovering the Alta Garrotxa. The places depicted by this 19th century author in the scenes from his famous novel have been joined in a discovery route.
Some of the main points of interest on this walk are the churches of Santa Cecília at Sadernes and Sant Aniol d'Aguja, a cliff-top castle, Castell Sespasa, and an old bridge, Pont de Valentí.
Warning: this walk runs through an area that can be extremely hot in the summer, where there is no sources, mobile phone signal, and no restaurants or any type of accommodation. Be sure to take water and food with you, and check the weather forecast before you set out.
