Grau d'Escales is a relatively easy pass (grau = ‘pass’ and escala = ‘step’ in Catalan) between two abrupt cliffs from where there are good views of the Salt dels Lliberals (Liberal’s Leap).
This circular walk starts in Oix, where it is worth visiting the church of Sant Llorenç. It then runs below the castle, Castell d'Oix, and on to the Romanesque church of Santa Maria d'Escales. From here, it returns along a different route to Oix via a medieval bridge, Pont d'Oix.
