This route is designed for one-way and you must provide for the return from Riudaura by public transport or car.

Els Comuns. Route 1 Tortellà

The route takes us to the Comuns quarry, a stone extraction site that used to build the Olot motorway to Besalú. The mining activity was stopped in 2010 and is currently under restoration.

Bestracà and Sant Miquel d'Hortmoier route

Beautiful route to the valley of Hortmoier, one of the quietest in the Alta Garrotxa, wet all year round, surrounded by cliffs.

Santa Maria de Finestres Sanctuary and la Palomera iberic. Route 18 Garrotxa

This path will allow us to reach one of the best viewpoints in La Garrotxa, an Iberian village and a postcard hermitage.

From Sadernes to Santa Bàrbara. Ruta 1 Alta Garrotxa

On clear days on certain stretches of this walk you can look eastwards and enjoy the views that extend right across the Empordà plain as far as the Mediterranean Sea.

In the footsteps of the Barons of Santa Pau. Ruta 1 Santa Pau

This walk takes you up to the magnificent summit of Finestres, one of the best viewpoints in La Garrotxa. Of great interest are the highly varied landscapes.

Across the Collsacabra plateau. Route 4 Garrotxa

This route follows part of the old ‘Royal Road’, a medieval trail joining these two cities that was probably paved to be able to transport timber to Barcelona to construct a fleet for the king.

Route Ribelles and Sant Aniol (from Hostal de la Muga)

The church of Sant Julià de Ribelles is Romanesque and was consecrated in 947. Sant Aniol d’Aguja dates from the High Middle Ages and was a Benedictine monastery before being transformed into a parish church and sanctuary.

The Churches of el Corb route. Route 4 Les Preses

Sant Miquel del Corb and Sant Martí del Corb, two of the best-kept secrets of the Romanesque heritage of La Garrotxa.

The charcoal makers and bac route. Route 3 Mieres

This route is an agreeable stroll through the shady woods of Clot Mal, a stream that runs down from the western side of the slopes around the church of Freixe.

La Devesa and Caxurma caves. Route 1 Montagut i Oix

Baumes de Caxurma are a series of natural caves formed in the sedimentary rocks that lie to the south of the basalt cliffs of Castellfollit de la Roca. The largest cave is around 400 m in length.

The two castles route. Route 6 Santa Pau

anta Pau Castle stands in the middle of the village of Santa Pau, which was once enclosed by a series of walls and fortifications. In the fifteenth century, a ‘new’ quarter was built at the entrance to the gate that provides access to the arched squares.

Sant Pere Sacosta. Route 1 Les Planes d'Hostoles

The parish of Sant Pere Sacosta has the privilege of being one of the oldest and most remote inhabited villages of la Vall de Hostoles. Located on the slopes of la Serra del Puig del Moro, on the north ridge of el Far and below el Coll de Condreu.

Typical walk, mainly summery, passing through the fountains of Fàbrega, Molí Nou, Font Grossa, del Mosquer, Fontana and Teula. It also offers us the opportunity to visit the Pou del Glaç and reach the hermitage of Santa Cecília

Monars route

The pond of Bassa de Monars and its lush green surroundings is a welcoming place to stop. Monars is part of Montagut i Oix and according to the 2007 census, eight people live in this hamlet. The first documentary records for Sant Sebastià date from 1064.

Fageda d'en Jordà - Volcano Santa Margarida - Volcano Croscat. Natural Park route 1

This route offers an alternative way of discovering three of the most-visited places in La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone Natural Park.

Fageda Fosca route. Route 5 Santa Pau

Parc de Pedra Tosca. Route Olot 4

This easy walk is perfect for the whole family. You pass along the Carrilet, the former train line to Girona that acts as a reminder of Olot’s rich industrial past. Further on you visit El Parc de Pedra Tosca.
