An easy route for the whole family that will take us to know the old fortress of the Montpalau.
To south of Sant Jaume de Llierca rises Puig de Santa Magdalena, on whose summit stand the ruins of a castle, Castell de Montpalau, and the church of Santa Magdalena.
From Sant Jaume de Llierca a signposted circular walk takes you up to Santa Magdalena, crossing the river Fluvià on two occasions.
The walk passes by the old textile factory of La Brutau and its sluice, of great interest to industrial archaeologists.
