The Garrotxa tourist map and Olot tourist map have been republished, as well as the walking and cycling itineraries map. Both publications have been printed for the first time on FSC-certified paper.

Turisme Garrotxa has republished two of the publications most used by tourists and visitors to orient themselves around Garrotxa, both maps, each with a different objective, but with a novelty: a paper with a certificate that guarantees the control of the its origin

The first publication to be reissued was the tourist map of the region, which as usual also includes the tourist map of the city of Olot. This map aims to inform tourists and visitors of the private, but also public, offer related to the services they may need during their visit or stay. On this occasion, it includes information on 122 accommodations, restaurants and tourist activities throughout the region, all companies associated with Turisme Garrotxa.

The second publication that has been re-edited has been the map of itineraries on foot and by bike, a drop-down that allows you to consult the indicative layout of most of the path network and of the more than 100 signposted itineraries suitable for use in on foot and by bicycle. As usual, the map has been updated with route changes and new itineraries created over the last few months, with a total of around a thousand kilometers of paths captured on the map.

The 45,000 units of the tourist map of La Garrotxa and the 30,000 units of the map of itineraries on foot and by bike are now available to all tourist offices and all establishments associated with the entity.

As a novelty, for the first time these two publications have been published on paper with mixed FSC certificate, an action aligned with the tourism strategy of La Garrotxa, based on the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism in La Garrotxa (CETS), the work tool created by the EUROPARC Federation and applied, in a coordinated manner, by the administrations and entities linked to the tourism sector of our region since 2001, as well as by different companies committed to sustainability.

The European Charter for Sustainable Tourism (CETS) is a commitment to collaboration between the company and the territory that guarantees responsible, sustainable and quality management of tourism. The owner of the CETS is the Natural Park of the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone, however the CETS applies to the area of the entire region. The CETS strategy is renewed in a participatory way every 5 years.

The mixed FSC certificate guarantees that the paper is made from a mixture of materials from FSC-certified forests, recycled materials and/or FSC-controlled wood. Although controlled wood does not come from FSC-certified forests, the risk of the material being obtained from unacceptable sources is reduced, as it must meet specific standards.

The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is a global non-profit organization that has been dedicated, for more than 25 years, to promoting responsible forest management around the world.
