Pools surrounded by history

Les Planes d’Hostoles is famous for its pools, but also for having been an important site during the Remença revolt.
The Carrilet cycle lane

The Carrilet is for walkers and cyclists only and follows the route of the narrow gauge railway that once linked Olot and Girona.
Broad flat bottomed valley of les Prese (ancient lake), Racó volcano and Pedra Tosca laves circuit.

The arrival of the Croscat volcano lava flow about 11,000 years ago, altered the landscape of this place and its effects extended not only to a wide area but quite reach our age.

This route will take you to two of the most emblematic Romanesque chapels in the Sierra de Entreperes, in the Alta Garrotxa.

Route to the wildlife watching hide, with a little luckyou will see birds such as Mallard , Grey Heron and Little Egret . The lucky few might just catch a glimpse of an Otter , reintroduced into the basing of the river Fluvià at the end of the 1990s.
