Although some structures from the 11th century do still stand, most of the surviving medieval buildings in La Garrotxa date from the 12th and 13th centuries.
Santa Bàrbara lies in the heart of L'Alta Garrotxa and affords memorable views over the Oix valley and the mountains of Bassegoda and El Ferran.The church dates from the twelfth or early thirteenth century, although it is likely that a primitive church.
Located to the north of the Natural Park, Sant Joan les Fonts has a combination of nature and culture that makes it a very unique village. It is home to a large number of points of interest, from spectacular basalt formations to Romanesque buildings.
The recreational area of Xenacs in Les Preses provides an atypical view of La Garrotxa and is one of the best places anywhere for getting a bird’seye view of Croscat and the other volcanoes in the area. As well, its height makes it an ideal place.
This route runs between wheat fields, you will enjoy beautiful views. Throughout the route you will be accompanied by Alta Garrotxa as a backdrop. Recommended for the whole family.

This is a flat walk that will take you to the ruins of the old castle and the church of Sant Martí in the hamlet of Dosquers. Also highly recommendable by bike.
The itinerary begins at the old Sant Feliu de Pallerols train station (currently the Tourism Office). It is worth starting with the climb to Coll de Condreu due to the steep slope we find from La Salut.
