Besalú, ciutat jueva is a celebration of historical recreation centered on the evocation of the medieval Jewish community of Besalú.
Saturday, March 2
11.30am: Presentation of the signposted route based on the book "EL PONT DELS JEUUS" in the City Hall meeting room followed by a guided tour by its author MARTÍ GIRONELL. If you want to walk through the pages of El pont dels jueu, you already have the signposted route. You will travel to medieval Besalú where Martí Gironell's novel takes place and you will discover its settings through plaques with various fragments of the book that place you squarely in that fascinating era.
18.00h: conference "THE WATERS THAT PURIFY" by Silvia Planas i Marcé, director of the Jewish History Museum of Girona. Assembly hall of the Besalú Town Hall.
Sunday, March 3
Street market throughout the day.
12:00h: Guided tour: "Shalom, Shalom". We will discover the Jewish quarter and relive its past through history. Price €5/person.
4.30pm: Guided tour "A WALK IN THE STREET". We will visit the nerve center of the Jewish community. The Micveh and the excavations of the synagogue. Price €2.50/person.
Open doors of the Micvé: from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Free.
