The festival of fire and light.

Lluèrnia, Olot's Fire and Light Festival, will be held on November 7 and 8, 2025. On the 7th, the light installations will be launched and on the 8th, in addition to the light installations, the fire installations will be lit and the final show will take place. In addition, on the previous days you can enjoy La Fumarola with two activities: the exhibition at Can Trincheria and the conference at the COAC headquarters in Olot. One of the spirits of the Festival is to help the citizens of Olot discover new spaces and itineraries, or reclaim historical ones. It is for this reason that, in this year's edition, Lluèrnia will perform in emblematic spaces of the city such as the Plaça Major or the Hospice, but will also propose moving to the Fluvià River.

Artistic call and citizen collaboration

The artistic call, which opened on March 3 and closed on April 6, received more than fifty proposals. The selected proposals will be added to twenty more installations that will be part of the route proposed by Lluèrnia this 2025. The festival will once again count on the collaboration of the nursery, primary and secondary schools of La Garrotxa, with two proposals that will be exhibited on Joan Pere Fontanella Street and Plaça Major. These installations involve the participation of more than 3,000 students, in addition to the invaluable help of the teaching and management staff of the participating schools.

Collaboration with other entities that present installations or activities on the occasion of the festival currently takes the form of proposals for co-production, exchange or direct incorporation. Lluèrnia will also feature the participation of architecture and design schools from Catalonia, including the Escola d’Art d’Olot and the Escola d’Art i Disseny de Terrassa, which will occupy, respectively, two emblematic spaces in the city, such as the Cloister of Carme and the Hospice.

For its part, Can Trincheria will host the photographic exhibition with images from the 2024 edition, by Pol Viladoms, and can be visited from November 5 to 16. It is also worth highlighting the collaborations of other entities, such as the PFI/PTT La Garrotxa, which collaborate with different areas of the festival such as the facilities themselves or visitor services.

Lluèrnia also collaborates with Càritas Garrotxa, an entity that will offer candles with the festival logo in order to raise funds. Its headquarters will be located in the middle of the route this year. The city's retirement homes are also an essential part of the festival's programming, with contributions from people living in the areas of Santa Maria del Tura, Montsacopa, La Caritat and Sant Jaume.

The festival's catering area will be located near the Espai Cràter, thanks to the complicity of the Club Bàsquet Olot, La Carnavalesca d'Olot and the Club Hoquei Olot. The final show will take place on Saturday, November 8th from 11pm with Deabru Beltzak, a prestigious Basque group that will be offering its show Su Talka after having premiered it at the last edition of the FiraTàrrega.

Co-productions with other festivals / networks

Lluèrnia expands its collaborations in the 2025 edition with other events and networks. Once again, it will offer an installation as part of the agreement with the Transefímers Network, of which it is part, with the presence of the Pul·lula assembly by salvestudio, artists who have already been present in other editions of the festival. Visitors will also be able to see 111 Faroles, an installation by Bayona Studio, thanks to the collaboration with Concéntrico, the International Architecture and Design Festival of Logroño.

Jaume Ramírez, Hortolà de la Llum – Collaboration with Llum BCN

Jaume Ramírez will be the Hortolà de la Llum of Lluèrnia 2025 with the installation Ombra i sol. His installation will be located in Plaça de Braus. This installation was born as a first collaboration with the Festival Llum BCN and the concept will move to the Simon factory in Barcelona in February 2026.

In Elogi de l’ombra, Borges assumes blindness as an opportunity. The shadow is no longer a loss, but a path towards the essential. In the darkness he discovers peace, lucidity and meaning. It is a stoic and poetic acceptance. One of the entrance doors to Plaça de Braus leads us towards the shadow. We enter the square through this door, to go and catch it.

Jaume Ramírez is a designer based in Barcelona specializing in furniture, lighting and industrial projects. He has collaborated with brands such as Marset, Parklex, Normann Copenhagen and Mobles 114. His work combines functionality and poetry, seeking the balance between reality and myth. It has received awards such as Delta de Oro, Red Dot and Design Plus, and has exhibited internationally

B Greenly certified as a sustainable festival

Lluèrnia has obtained B Greenly certification as a sustainable event, a recognition that values the festival's efforts to minimize its impact ambiental, strengthen social commitment and promote culture as a driver of transformation.
