  • The period of regulation of motorized access to the Sadernes track begins again
Tuesday 8 of March of 2022

On March 12, the regulation of motorized access to the Sadernes track that leads to the Riu and La Muntada valleys begins. It will be applied 24 hours a day and every day of the week. This pass restriction will be in effect until November 1st.

This regulation is based on the application of Decree 166/1998 of 8 July regulating motorized access to the natural environment and only authorized vehicles will be able to access the area, as is the case with residents of the area and emergencies or rescue. The rest of the users will have to park the vehicle in the Sadernes car park, the only enabled car park.

During the busiest period of the space, as it began last year, it will be necessary to make a reservation in advance to access the car park and guarantee the parking of the vehicle. This procedure will be necessary from mid-April coinciding with the start of Easter, we will soon report on its operation through our regular media.

In addition, an Information Service will be set up to attend to visitors, as well as a rural daycare service.

These regulations and services are aimed at avoiding episodes of overcrowding and congestion on the road network and making it easier for visitors to enjoy their experience in Alta Garrotxa. They also guarantee the preservation of the natural values of the space, as the situation of previous seasons required urgent solutions to curb the consequences on biodiversity and the environment in such fragile areas: soil erosion, water turbulence, direct impact on flora or fauna (handling of animals or crushing of animals and nests) or noise (nuisance to reproduction).
