Gemma Canalias i Rafel has been the new president of Turisme Garrotxa since Monday, June 14, after the entity’s Assembly confirmed her proposal for the position made by the entity’s Board. Gemma Canalias, Councilor for Business, Trade and Tourism at Olot City Council and Regional Councilor for Tourism and Culture, is facing the position with enthusiasm and with the will to give maximum support to the entity's governance model. characterized by public-private cooperation.

Canalias will have a Governing Board that remains unchanged, formed by Gerard Xifra as vice president, Marc Puig as treasurer, Bàrbara Asencio as secretary, and Xavier Puig, Lluís Pujiula, Estanis Vayreda, Conxa Jufresa, Mariona Martí, Francesc Coll , Werner Estellé and Isabel Morera as vocals.

During the Assembly, the new president, who has extensive experience in the technical aspect of tourism promotion, highlighted as one of the objectives of her term the fact of preserving the model of public-private collaboration of Turisme Garrotxa and continue working to maintain consensus between the public and private sectors of tourism in the region, always within the framework of a development model based on the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism.
