Through this itinerary we can see a long basaltic cliff while we walk through an area with shadows, fresh and pleasant.
ATTENTION: SOME SECTIONS OF THIS ITINERARY ARE IN POOR CONDITION. THE ROUTE ENDS AT FONTFREDA CLIFF.
The itinerary begins in the main square of Sant Joan les Fonts. We went down the main street towards the church. We crossed the bridge and passed through the alley next to the church. Behind we found the access to the Molí Fondo. We go back up and continue to the Boscarró.
To continue the route you have to go back (until you cross the Molí Fondo) and connect with a street that goes up to a green area. A crossing to the right takes us to the first fountain (Can Xerbanda fountain). It is out of the itinerary. We continue along the road and find an old mill, and then the first step of the river. This area is very slippery and you have to keep in mind the floods of the river !!!.
We will cross the river again to reach the cliffs of Fontfreda. We go to a street uphill to go back down to the source of Serrat de Baix by a path. Finally we find the street that leads to the Serrat de Baix, we follow it up and we return to Sant Joan by a nice side street between farmhouses and oak groves.
The access from the Canya we took it at a junction of this street.
