The arrival of the Croscat volcano lava flow about 11,000 years ago, altered the landscape of this place and its effects extended not only to a wide area but quite reach our age.
This route is designed for one-way and you must provide for the return from Riudaura by public transport or car.
Batet lies on a basalt plateau crowned by the volcano Pujalós. Batet is a wonderful place and provides exceptional views of the Pyrenees and the area around Olot.

The city of Olot spreads out around the base of one of La Garrotxa’s best known volcanoes –Montsacopa– and climbing its slopes is a perfect way to rediscover nature without actually leaving the city.

Live the experience of making fresh cow’s cheese, enjoy a walk tour at night through “La Fageda d’en Jordà” beech forest, ride a horse in the Volcanic Zone Natural Park, visit a landscape painter’s work studio and paint in the countryside.

The best way to discover a territory is through its history and its landscapes by walking the old trails. We’ll follow the Annia trail, the best preserved roman road in all the Iberian Peninsula, and the medieval trails that still link villages.
