Baumes de Caxurma are a series of natural caves formed in the sedimentary rocks that lie to the south of the basalt cliffs of Castellfollit de la Roca. The largest cave is around 400 m in length.
From Santa Magdalena de Jonqueres a splendid view await you, on clear days you can see the sea.
Castellfollit de la Roca sits atop a basalt cliff formed by two overlapping lava flows. Along the route, you will be given an up-close view of a basalt cliff that is spectacular not only because of its height, but also the houses built right on its edge.
Transited since time immemorial, in recent years this road was used to drive cattle in summer to their high Pyrenean pastures. Until a few centuries ago it was the only existing route to the Camprodon Valley from the Bianya Valley.
The St James’ Way runs through the county of La Garrotxa and visits en route a number of interesting sites.
The traces of the history of La Vall de Bianya can be followed in this itinerary that visits the 15 Romanesque churches that decorate this peaceful corner of La Garrotxa.
Through this itinerary we can see a long basaltic cliff while we walk through an area with shadows, fresh and pleasant.
This route follows some of the old paths and trails used to bring wood charcoal down from the Serra de Finestres. The path that passes by Font Ricard is an attractive mule trail that connects the hamlet of Ruïtlles to the church of El Freixe.
