This route takes you to three natural springs that the people from Santa Pau have cared for and tended for many years.This walk also links to the route that visits some of the local bathing pools.
This route explores the village of Santa Pau, blessed with a rich heritage – part of which is included on other routes – that stretches back to medieval times and the Remences peasant’s revolt and up to the 19th century Carline Wars.
The circular tour of Cós invites you to climb the mountain of Cós, where you will find the castle and the hermitage, and will give you exceptional views of the Montagut plain, the Fluvià path and on clear days also the Empordà plain to the sea.
The pond of Bassa de Monars and its lush green surroundings is a welcoming place to stop. Monars is part of Montagut i Oix and according to the 2007 census, eight people live in this hamlet. The first documentary records for Sant Sebastià date from 1064.
This is a very long circular route that allows you to reach La Miana and return via a different path. If we want to do shorter sections to Sagrat Cor, Sant Silvestre el Mor, Sant Fructós, etc... you can do a round trip route.
Garrell’s art takes advantage of its surroundings and recycled material and creates spaces and installations in between the hills, a stream and the river Fluvià.
The route takes us to the Comuns quarry, a stone extraction site that used to build the Olot motorway to Besalú. The mining activity was stopped in 2010 and is currently under restoration.
