Routes and excursions TOP
This GR runs from La Jonquera to Aiguafreda through medieval towns and villages such as Besalú and Santa Pau, and natural protected areas including La Garrotxa Volcanic Zone and Montseny natural parks, and the Collsacabra, Savassona and Tavertet Cliffs.
A route that brings to life the Romanesque treasures of the village of Beuda, and which can be complemented with a visit to the centre of Besalú.
An intimate route to connect with nature.
Transited since time immemorial, in recent years this road was used to drive cattle in summer to their high Pyrenean pastures. Until a few centuries ago it was the only existing route to the Camprodon Valley from the Bianya Valley.
Typical walk, mainly summery, passing through the fountains of Fàbrega, Molí Nou, Font Grossa, del Mosquer, Fontana and Teula. It also offers us the opportunity to visit the Pou del Glaç and reach the hermitage of Santa Cecília
anta Pau Castle stands in the middle of the village of Santa Pau, which was once enclosed by a series of walls and fortifications. In the fifteenth century, a ‘new’ quarter was built at the entrance to the gate that provides access to the arched squares.
Route around Montagut, where the first foothills of the Alta Garrotxa already offer some examples of the best Romanesque architecture in the area.
