Garrell’s art takes advantage of its surroundings and recycled material and creates spaces and installations in between the hills, a stream and the river Fluvià.
This route provides links Mataró and Prada de Conflent and the peak of El Canigó. It runs through attractive landscapes in El Montseny, Les Guilleries and La Garrotxa, and includes sections involving considerable climbs once it reaches the Pyrenees.
High difficulty route, 20,6 KM and ascent of 1605 m
This route follows the southern flank of the Pyrenees from the Bay of Biscay to the Mediterranean. Difficult high-altitude sections give way to peaks, valleys, villages, forests and ridges in a varied landscape of great visual beauty.
Route to the wildlife watching hide, with a little luckyou will see birds such as Mallard , Grey Heron and Little Egret . The lucky few might just catch a glimpse of an Otter , reintroduced into the basing of the river Fluvià at the end of the 1990s.
Monasteries, medieval villages, churches and, above all, castles are today some of the most important reminders of the medieval past of La Garrotxa.
The need to cultivate the territory has been a transforming element of the landscape. The landscape of Les Preses stands out for its scenic attractions. Plains and mountains alternate harmoniously with croplands and forests.
This route follows some of the old paths and trails used to bring wood charcoal down from the Serra de Finestres. The path that passes by Font Ricard is an attractive mule trail that connects the hamlet of Ruïtlles to the church of El Freixe.
