This route visits two of Olot’s most remarkable volcanoes, Montsacopa and Montolivet.
Les Planes d’Hostoles is famous for its pools, but also for having been an important site during the Remença revolt.
Although some structures from the 11th century do still stand, most of the surviving medieval buildings in La Garrotxa date from the 12th and 13th centuries.
This is a very long circular route that allows you to reach La Miana and return via a different path. If we want to do shorter sections to Sagrat Cor, Sant Silvestre el Mor, Sant Fructós, etc... you can do a round trip route.
The Bisaroques volcano is the smallest of the four volcanoes in Olot. Along the way, we will see the black, brown and reddish colors of the volcanic soil.
The church of Sant Julià de Ribelles is Romanesque and was consecrated in 947. Sant Aniol d’Aguja dates from the High Middle Ages and was a Benedictine monastery before being transformed into a parish church and sanctuary.
On this route we discover the wayside crosses around the neighborhood of Segueró. They are columns or monuments that commemorate an event or also on a road indicate the separation of two municipal terms. On this route we find one of each type.
This itinerary passes near a spectacular basaltic cliff, not only for its height, but also for the houses built right on its edge.
