Placed inside the Natural Reserve of the Volcanic Zone of la Garrotxa, Mas Can Batlle is an impressive manor with more than 1000 years of history. What was probably born as a shepherds' small cabin has been growing and taking new shape ever since.

During the last two centuries this house has happened to see farmers, shepherds, gentlemen, bandits, Carlists and even a Carlist claimant to the throne of Spain, Alfonso Carlos I, who stayed in the house for a few nights in January, 1873.

Four of our five suites are on the first floor next to the reception desk. There is also an old oratory that we have kept as we found it. And an old kitchen with a wood fuelled oven where we have placed a display with local products for you to buy.

On the ground floor there is a small library, the dining room with a chimney, a small room for indoor games and the buffet. And also a bar where you can help yourself if we are not around.

But we are not done yet. We keep on working so we can constantly improve the house. We want to transform the frontal open arcades into a great elongated sitting room where you can enjoy our most precious asset: tranquillity.
